I am an accomplished engineer and manager with experience across several disciplines. I love getting my hands dirty with computer hardware, embedded systems, and Internet of Things (IoT) platforms and drawing data from those devices in unique and creative ways. With sensor-driven data I've given life to interactive public art and uncovered patterns in consumer behavior. I'm constantly thinking about ways in which we can instrument the physical world to capture data that, rather than adding useless noise to our lives, actually impactfully enhances our experiences.
My personal goal in starting Dispersion is to direct my passion for physical computing to create enhanced everyday experiences for as many people as I can. Through years of working with LEDs I've given power to hundreds of thousands of pixels. I want to power millions more, feed them with data, integrate them into places and things, and watch them illuminate the world in new and different ways. I'm honored to have partnered with the talented Jamie Wirkler to start Dispersion as a means to that end.
Beyond my love of technology, I have also had the good fortune to foster one of the most dynamic communities of creatives and professionals at The Studio (Boulder), a shared workspace and event venue here in Boulder, Colorado.
